So, exactly how did this child get so cute?
If you look close, she's missing 1 front tooth in this photo. She lost the other front tooth yesterday. Really - lost it. Can't find it. She had it in the car on the way home, but where it went from there - we just don't know. And where have I been since my last post? Yeah, got laid off. This recession just got a whole lot more personal this time. Heard a joke a long time ago: It's a recession if your neighbor gets laid off; it's a depression if you get laid off. Thank goodness DH is still gainfully employed. So, I've been working like crazy on finding any possible lead, however tenuous, writing cover letters, and applying for all sorts of jobs. On the up side, I rather like getting the kids right after school and getting homework done before dinner. Allows us to have an enjoyable evening after dad gets home.
Should be a post on Midi's page shortly too. :)

But! We camped in a yurt - a heated, well lit yurt. I've always thought it would be fun to camp in a yurt, and I was right. Really the only problem was getting the kids (we went with one other family) out of the yurt. They never want to loiter about the tents, but a yurt? A yurt has bunk beds to use as jungle gyms, chairs to build forts around, and parents to annoy. Yes, the moms seemed to have trouble leaving the yurts too. The weather was grand, but I was glad for the heater. It was also fun to have an entire campground to ourselves - other than the yurts, Pearl Lake was closed for camping. Probably good since the kids were altogether loud, and the adults stayed up way past "quite hours."
Saturday, the Ladies drove in to Steamboat for a little window shopping. The last window was Fuzzywig's Candy Store, and we did a little more than window shop there. All of the kids got what I call sticky sticks - straight candy canes in fruity colors/flavors. I was wearing my political candidate of choice t-shirt, and the owners of Fuzzywig offered me a bumper sticker for the other candidate. Said someone had mailed it to them, but they didn't need it. A couple of goofy guys.
