Legos

Legos is apparently 50 years old this year? and they are putting out 50th anniversary stuff. I bought this box not for Max but for me. Oh, the contents will make into somebody's possession eventually, but the box! The lovely, beautiful box! Here is the front of the box:

So not the kinds of things Max builds today. He's all Mars Mission and Star Wars. Clowns? Mini houses? No. Although he did build a comic book store last night... which I had to confiscate because he needed to go to sleep...

This is from the front of the box. There is no way that boy is actually breathing! His shirt collar is so tight! And that plaid! Dad, on the other hand, doesn't look like he's strangling, but his hair looks glued down. And being a good, proper dad, he's playing with his kids in a tie and sweater vest? This is good, quality 50's stuff!

As for the VW detail on the back - I'd love to get my hands on that set. Probably worth a fortune if you still had the original sets with their boxes.

No doubt Legos deserved to be toy of the century. :)

The Season of Birthday Parties

We currently have 4 birthday parties on the schedule for the fall. The first was Justin's, at Monkey Business. Happy 9th birthday, Justin!

This is the only photo of Max - he's no longer so willing to have mom snap a million pictures. He's mid flight down a giant slide. This is Ave (the pink blur) on the same slide, next to a delightful gal in Max's grade, Lorette. She is so not his girlfriend!! Ave and Lorette and another girl were it for girls at this party, and they ran hard together.
